Greetings Fellow Dream-Seekers!
It's time to celebrate you! The closer
we get to our
Annual Awards Banquet on Tuesday, November
11, the more excited I become. As in
years past,
the WBO year-end Banquet will honor women in
business with plenty of networking, a
delicious meal,
an exciting awards ceremony and a powerful
keynote
speaker. What we've added this time is an
opportunity
for you to bring your colleagues, spouses or
significant others, dress your best, and do a
little
dancing, too! The WBO Annual Award Banquet is
going to be an event you won't want to miss,
so be
sure to save the date on your calendars.
Please visit
the WBO website for more information about the
Banquet and to reserve your space both at the
event,
and in the souvenir ad booklet.
Among the awards that will be given at
the Banquet
this year is our annual Nancy Ray Founders
Award. This award is given to an
enterprising
WBO member who has been in business for two
years or less and is awarded on a competitive
application basis. If you are an active WBO
member
who has been in business for less than two
years,
you are invited to apply for this prestigious
award. The
application deadline is October 7. Please
visit the
WBO website for details on how to apply and
what the
recipient will receive, not the least of
which is a free
one year membership.
As we approach the end of the year, it is
also time to
elect the 2009 Board of Directors.
Any WBO
member may run for an office, and all are
invited to
vote. At the October 14 meeting we will
elect the 2009
President, President-Elect, Treasurer and
Secretary. If
you are interested in running for an office,
please
notify me at president@wbo-mich.org no later
than
October 7. You may also email me if you
are interested in any of the Coordinator
positions
including Programming, Communications,
Membership or Special Events. Serving on the
Board
of Directors is an exciting and very rewarding
experience. Giving of your time to further
the mission
of providing quality education, networking,
referral and
support services to women in business just like
yourself is worth every moment. I hope you
will take
advantage of this gratifying call to leadership.
We are entering the last quarter of 2008.
Ask yourself
how you are coming on the goals you set for your
business. Set your sites on where you want
to take
your business over the next 90 days and work
like you
can't fail. Write your plan and study it
daily. I look
forward to seeing you all at the top!
Yours in the pursuit of
success,
T.Rose
2008 WBO President

| Meeting Update - Life is like a Boomerang: It's All About Your Attitude |
 |
|
Debbie Crispin, Owner, Bill Crispin
Chevrolet "For all of us to be
successful in
any endeavor, it takes a positive attitude".
This can be
difficult in the best of times; it is
especially challenging
when the economy is poor, but it is possible.
Debbie
presented a lively discussion on how to be
successful
in any environment. She lives this with visible
success in the male dominated automotive
industry.
Debbie outlined what she did for her self, in
order to
develop a more positive attitude first for
her own life.
One of the biggest changes is one that I also
encourage; she stopped watching the news.
Turning
off the television does not leave you out of
touch, it
gives you time to fill as you chose, and
allows you to
read the news on your own terms on the
internet or
the local paper.
With her extra time, Debbie began filling
that void with
activities that were positive and enriching.
She began
reading daily inspirational quotes, and has been
sending these to friends to encourage living
with
grace and confidence. Debbie also began working
with a Life Coach, careful to chose one
outside of her
industry, to get another perspective. Dr.
Frederic
Gross encouraged her to make some life
changes: -
Commit to taking care of your self. If
you don't do this, you can not lead others
effectively.
- Find Positive People in
your
life.
- Eliminate the toxic influence
of people who
do not support a positive attitude.
-
Join a group
of people for positive networking solutions.
(Like
WBO!)
- Journal. 5 minutes every day.
Write in
the journal to bring your thoughts and
emotions into
a written format - it is a technique that
changes your
focus and your mood. It creates a habit of
positive,
forward thinking.
Write the following
daily: 3
things for which you are grateful 3
things that you have
accomplished 1 positive
self-affirmation, highlight
your potential for being great
Accountability: In leadership roles,
accountability is the acknowledgment and
assumption of responsibility for actions. In
our own
lives, we need accountability in order to
improve, to
make change. Business studies have shown that
change takes weeks in order to create a new
habit.
Something as simple as changing the way you
answer the phone can take weeks.
Debbie applied this in her business by
modeling the
journal behaviors, and creating an atmosphere
where
the staff listened to each other describe
something
they were grateful for, something they have
accomplished, and a positive
self-affirmation. She
has seen a difference in her self, and in her
staff since
implementing this in staff meetings.
Live with Gratitude
Today
Boomerang: What you sow, so
shall you reap. What you give, you
get. What
you throw out is coming back!
The energy we throw out really does come back
to us.
Debbie encouraged us to move beyond just
talking about
good choices and good habits. She challenged
us to
experience living our beliefs, really putting
time and
energy into the talents and skills that make us
unique.
"People become really quite remarkable when
they start believing they can do things."
Final words: "You have to set the
stage for
your success. What path do you want to go
on? How
are you doing to get there?"

| Spread the Word - Suddenly Slender at J'spaa |
 |
|
J'spaa now offers Suddenly
Slender NOT ALL BODY WRAPS ARE THE
SAME! YOU'LL LOSE 6-20 INCHES IN 1 VISIT!
Suddenly Slender Mineral Wraps are different.
Using
all-natural electrolytes and minerals, with
exclusive
certified wrapping techniques and specific
products,
we are able to visually tighten and tone all
areas of the
body. We produce significant, noticeable
results with
just 1 wrap!
Suddenly Slender is an important, effective (and
pleasant) treatment that greatly eliminates
the toxic
wastes and fluids that contribute to
cellulite swelling.
The body is wrapped with porous elastic bandages
that have been soaked in a special mineral
solution.
This mineral solution is absorbed by the skin
and
aids the body in "flushing out" the toxic
fluid that is
stored between fat cells.
If you have tried weight loss programs,
exercise, and
diet after diet and still have unwanted
inches, cellulite
and loose skin, a body wrap is the answer.
There are
5 different types and they all do 3 things:
detoxify, slim
and tighten skin.
- Slendertone detoxifies, slims and
tightens;
- PowerWrap for immediate energy,
coordination and
stamina;
- Anti-Aging for firmer skin and aching
joints;
- Body Lift for lifting; and
- Lipase for fatty areas.
At J'spaa, we have the perfect body wrap
for you!
We welcome you to experience the ultimate in
beauty
and wellness. Let J'spaa cater to your total
appearance and well body needs - whether you are
visiting us for the first time or regularly
experience our
full range of services. We look forward to
meeting your
needs.
