President's Message
"Man, alone, has the power to transform his
thoughts into physical reality; man, alone, can dream
and make his dreams come true."
--Napoleon Hill
Congratulations, Dream-Seekers!
You, the women who dared to chase their
dreams and start your own businesses, are the
creators of the future. Whatever your product or
service, you are all in the business of generating more
business. You alone have the power to transform
your thoughts into reality.
I love the beginning of a new year. It's a time to revisit
your dreams and to set new goals for where you want
to be in your business by the end of the quarter,
summer, or by the end of the year. You have the
power within you to create whatever it is that you want.
Don't allow talk of recession get in your way.
Remember, there are many people who continue to
make fortunes, even when times seem tough. Set
your sights high and work hard to insure that you
achieve the level of success that you want to achieve.
Be specific and fearless in your goal-setting and write
them down. There is nothing as powerful as a
dream. Don't just follow your dreams - chase them!
The WBO Board is committed to making this
organization the best it can be so that you, the
members and guests, can get the tools you need to
help you reach your goals. Our main goals are to offer
education, networking, referral and support to women
in business. Please feel free to join us for any of our
regularly scheduled board meetings, immediately
following the general meetings on the second
Tuesday of the month, or to send an email to any
member of the Board. We welcome your feedback.
Make 2008 your year to reach a higher height! If you
can dream it, you can do it. Here's to you!
Yours in the pursuit of success,
T.Rose
2008 WBO President

| Meeting Update - Help, I'm Knee-Deep in Clutter! |
 |
|
January is "Go Month" for "Get Organized". In
keeping with this month, Joyce Anderson spoke on
the necessary steps for clearing the clutter from our
lives in order to make room for a new year. She
described the need to organize our lives in order to
make room for more of what we really want. Joyce is
a professional organizer and provides the service for
individuals on a personal and business level.
Joyce began with a clever example of how not to get
organized with overloaded purses, garages and
basements. She then went on to describe a system
for easy organization along a "divide and conquer"
theory. This gives us a chance to stop and look at our
lives and make it more efficient. Joyce said, "You can
never really get your papers, home or office under
control if you only get serious for one month, or with
company. It is the daily management that keeps it
under control and allows you to enjoy your life."
For a Quick Fix to a purse:
- Empty the purse
- Dump out the garbage (wrappers, old receipts, old
lists)
- Clump objects into groups, such as makeup,
medication and receipts, in a specific area or
use small bags for storage
- Consider carrying less items with you!
Clutter Tip #1: Clear out the clutter
- Dump it: Make a large pile and sort out the
garbage first
- Clump and Organize: Sort those things you need
into piles and categories
- Determine if you need it:: Is it broken? Would you
save it from a flood? Can you replace it if you need it
in the future? Is it outdated? Does it fit your current
lifestyle?
Clutter Tip #2: Tackle a Monster Mess - Paperwork!
- Organize the Daily Mail and Messages - Store all
papers in one area and use folders, baskets or trays
for papers
- Organize Miscellaneous Papers - Create
folders
Clutter Tip #3: Sharpen the Saw
- Travel - stay relaxed, stay in shape
- 52 Pick-up - Quick Fixes : Pick one project each
week, and by the end of the year you have completed
52 projects!
