President's Message

Dear Fellow Business Owners,

Tax planning is a year-round event if you want to minimize your business's tax bill. Do you know what the tax code means? Before you take any deductions or credits, know what the tax law has to say about what constitutes business income. Whether it's surviving an audit, capitalizing on business deductions, or finding tax-friendly ways to run your business, this month's speaker, Pamela Kurtz of Hantz Financial Services can help you understand your tax obligations and make paying taxes less anxiety provoking.

Pam and her team provide an integrated approach to financial planning that addresses investments, retirement planning, tax planning, insurance review, debt management, employee benefits, estate planning and all other aspects of financial health.  Pam specializes in bringing specific targeted tax solutions to individual and business situations.

So join us on October 11th to learn more about:

How to Structure Your Business with Tax Cuts in Mind: Deciding whether to incorporate, and which business entity to choose, can be a challenge. Now a slew of new tax concerns for individuals and small firms has added another wrinkle to the process.

Deductions and Write-Offs:

Maximize what you can deduct, and discover what you can write off by knowing what constitutes legitimate business expenses.

Tax Planning for Tough Times:

What can small business owners take advantage of to help ease their cash-flow troubles?

Here's to your wealth!

Spread the Word

Each newsletter is sponsored by a WBO member.   This month it is Gaye Hobson of Management Decisions.   Here is her story:

Gaye Hobson, Management Decision's managing partner, holds a MBA from Wayne State University with a special focus in Management, Organizational Science and Accounting.  In addition to other subjects, she has taught small business management at several colleges.  She and her husband, and business partner, have more than 50 years of combined experience as teachers, entrepreneurs and executives.

Gaye's varied work experience, in accounting, management and training gives her a unique perspective to small companies, where every one wears many hats.  She understands that you are not just growing a business; you're "building a life."Gaye Hobson

So with a management background and a name like Management Decisions, LLC. why the interest and focus on accounting, payroll and tax?  Because in Gaye's words "Accounting is how we keep score, how we know if we are on track.  It's the information base for just about all management decisions."

Of all the things you do to run your business, record keeping is probably your least favorite task.  Management Decisions provides many services to help keep track of your business so you know where your are and, more importantly,  how to get to where you want to be.

They create customized accounting solutions to specifically address the problem you and your company faces.  They do this on a short term basis, while you look for a new bookkeeper, or longer if you find you don't need a full time bookkeeper.  Management Decisions is also available to work with your staff to make sure those new accounting installations or new personnel get up to speed fast.  They also specialize in creating user friendly management reports that get you the information you need to make good decisions.

Have a different accounting problem?  Call Management Decisions at 734-740-4886.  They love to help.
